The Himalayan School is a fully online educational institution offering high-quality education through both the Indian CBSE aligned Curriculum and British (Cambridge/IGCSE & A Levels) curricula. We welcome learners from diverse backgrounds and aim to make education accessible, inclusive, and flexible for students around the globe.
These admission policies outline our principles and procedures to ensure a transparent, fair, and consistent enrollment process.
Eligibility Criteria & Age Requirements
- Primary School (Grades 1–5 / Key Stages 1–2): Minimum age 5 years by 31st March (Indian curriculum) or 1st September (British curriculum).
- Middle School (Grades 6–8 / Key Stage 3): Age-appropriate as per grade placement and prior academic records.
- Secondary & Senior Secondary (Grades 9–12 / IGCSE & A Levels): Based on prior curriculum, academic performance, and subject prerequisites.
Academic Background
- Students must submit transcripts or academic records from previous school years.
- Transition between curricula (Indian ↔ British) will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Diagnostic tests may be required to assess placement, especially for mid-year admissions or curriculum switches.
Language Proficiency
- English is the medium of instruction for both curricula.
- Applicants may be asked to provide proof of English proficiency or undertake a language assessment, especially for middle and senior school levels.
Admission Process
Application Submission
- Applications are accepted year-round, subject to availability.
- The application form must be completed online and include:
- Personal details
- Educational history
- Curriculum and grade preference
- Supporting documents (birth certificate, previous report cards, ID proof, etc.)
Confirmation & Enrollment
- Once accepted, families receive an orientation invite detailed syllabus,academic calendar
- Admission is confirmed upon payment of the registration fee and submission of all required documents.
- Students are granted access to our online learning portal and introduced to their class mentor.
Curriculum Choice Policy
- Students may select between Indian and British curricula upon enrollment.
- Switching between curricula after enrollment is allowed only:
- At natural grade transition points (e.g., end of Primary, before Grade 8)
- Subject to academic review and approval by the Academic Head
Special Considerations
International Students
- Open to students globally.
- Time zone accommodations for live sessions may be available.
- Curriculum alignment and grading will follow standard frameworks recognized internationally
Fee Payment Policy
- Fees must be paid as per the fee schedule on 5th of first month of the quarter.
- Flexible payment plans may be available upon request.
- Non-payment may result in suspension or cancellation of enrollment.
Withdrawal & Refund Policy
- Requests for withdrawal must be submitted in writing.
- Refunds requests are not accepted after admission and in any given circumstances,
Right to Deny or Revoke Admission
- The Himalayan School reserves the right to:
- Deny admission based on incomplete documentation, inappropriate behavior, or academic mismatch.
- Revoke admission if false information is provided or if students/families violate school policies
